Learn the basics of eco-printing with local, in-season leaves and flowers!
Eco-printing is a process by which the shape of a plant, leaf or flower is transferred onto fabric to make a lasting print without the addition of dyes or inks. Depending on the plants, fabric, season and bundling method, prints with beautiful detail can be achieved through this process, making it nothing short of magical!
We will talk about how to prepare fabric for natural dyeing, what kinds of leaves and flowers that grow in our climate are good candidates for eco-printing, and, of course, get some hands-on experience!
You will make and take home an eco-printed bandana, plus your choice of a tea towel or a piece of fabric to incorporate into your own sewing projects! You will also receive a handout with basic instructions to follow at home, and resources for where to source materials, etc.
The workshop will be held Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1 pm.
